David Gray Adler, President of The Alturas Institute, is renowned for his efforts in promoting American Democracy, the Constitution, civic education, and gender equality. An acclaimed recipient of various teaching, writing, and civic awards, Adler’s expertise in constitutional law, presidential power, and the Bill of Rights is widely recognized. He has authored six books, including “The War Power in an Age of Terrorism,” and over 100 scholarly articles. Currently, he’s writing about the pivotal Supreme Court case Reed v. Reed. His insights have been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court, federal courts, and political leaders. Adler has lectured extensively, contributing op-eds and a syndicated column on constitutional matters. He’s held prestigious professorships and director roles at Idaho universities, focusing on public policy and constitutional studies. Adler, a frequent media commentator and board member of several organizations, holds a B.A. from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah.
