Violinist Laurana Wheeler Roderer returns to the stage of the DEC on February 3rd to share with the Idaho Falls community a program of solo violin repertoire, featuring the virtuosity and charm of Eugène Ysaÿe’s Solo Sonata No. 4, and the depth and grandeur of J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 2 in D minor. In addition to these classics, Laurana will perform Reena Esmail’s “When the Violin,” a work from 2020 inspired by the words of a 14th-century Persian poet. Narrator Josh Wheeler joins Laurana on stage for Alan Ridout’s charming rendition of Munro Leaf’s beloved children’s story, Ferdinand the Bull.
